Band Pro & Owen Stephens, SOC, Bring Fill-Lite Workshop to Cinec 2014

Fill-Lite LED soft light appears at Cinec 2014 MunichFill-Lite joins Band Pro for the first time at Cinec in Munich. We are fortunate that Owen Stephens, SOC is invited to present a workshop on lighting techniques building on LED soft light.

We will appear in the Band Pro stand at 3-A01 along with best new acquisition tools including Leica Summicron-C lenses, IB/E Optics extenders and converters, the latest camera offerings from Sony, Movcam accessories, Convergent Design Odyssey 7 & 7Q recorders, and more. Our soft light fixtures received a high level of acclaim and interest at NAB, Cine Gear and IBC over the last year and we now look forward to sharing our soft light with the German film industry.

The workshop with Owen Stephens will cover his experiences in lighting major film and television sets in international locations. Owen will discuss how he sets a base of soft light and then adds on top of that light to create scenes that focus the eye on the action. He will also share stories about the films and the scenes that drew audiences to these movies.

Fill-Lite soft lights were introduced to Europe in 2013. The fixtures produce a clean, color-correct, soft light. Vojtech Pokorny, Band Pro Digital Image Consultant/Technical Sales at Band Pro Berlin, took the Fill-Lite fixtures on a workshop tour to Berlin, Prague, Vienna and Munich earlier this year. Everyone attending the workshop had a chance to handle the lights and three DPs shot with the lights and an assortment of cameras and lenses Band Pro brought on the tour (Sony, Canon, Leica Summicron-C, etc.). A beautiful video was produced that combines the art of dance and movement in chalk on a paper medium.

We will bring two improved models to show with:

  • More Light
  • Improved Color
  • Lower Weight

…all in the same energy efficient product that produces the same award-winning soft light as earlier models. These lights bring a film look to digital imaging and Owen’s workshop will demonstrate the methods he uses to make this happen.
